Herceg Novi, the ancient city of sunshine, flowers, festivals and arts, is located under the very cliffs of Lovćen and Orjen on the way in to Boka Kotorska - the one of a kind bay on the Mediterranean coastline. The city is a favorable destination of domestic and foreign tourists thanks to its more than six hundred years long tradition, rich cultural inheritanceand numerous historical monuments.
The Herceg Novi coast is 25 km long, and consists of peninsulas, small islands, various beaches and attractive vacation areas, with the deep mountain hinterland and picturesque villages and settlements located between olive groves and exotic Mediterranean foliage. In the Mirište cove, distant only 3,8 nautical miles from Herceg Novi, a popular vacation area Žanjice is located. Deep in Ljuštica peninsula land, surrounded by the blueness of the Adriatic sea and the old olive groves, with a beach of sand and white round pebbles and the beautiful Blue Cave in the neighborhood, it is attractive during the whole year.
At the very peak of the peninsula Ljuštica there is also located a fishing settlement Rose, one of the most beautiful places on the coast.
Hence, the most attractive location of the Herceg Novi coast is, no doubt, the Mirište cove with the modern bathing beach Masline. One should not forget Igalo, the well-known health resort.
Not far from Herceg Novi there is the city Kotor, cultural and trading center of Boka for centuries, and old city Dubrovnik.
